What is a Blessing Box?
A Blessing Box is a “Little Free Pantry”, which provides non perishable food (like cereal, canned soup/pasta, granola bars) as well as hygiene items (including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste and toilet paper) to local residents when they need them. They are unlocked and operate according to the Little Free Pantry motto “Take what you need, Give what you can.”
The Generous Hands Blessing Box program continues to grow, expanding access to essential items throughout our community. Blessing Boxes are located at our offices (606 Spruce St., Vicksburg), Portage Terrace (11247 Portage Rd., Portage), Fulton Christian Church (14108 W. Ave. E, Fulton), and the Lawrence Memorial District Library (107 N. Main St., Climax). Each Blessing Box is replenished often by Generous Hands volunteers.
